1) Robotic surgery facility in Safdarjung Hospital
The robotic surgery facility in the Safdarjung Hospital (SJH) New Delhi was dedicated to the nation by the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan
Advantages of it
Robot Surgery facility for all poor patients for free. Robotic surgery has the advantage of providing minimally invasive surgery, reducing significantly the morbidity & mortality of critically ill, cancer and kidney failure patients. The Robotic system provides 7 degrees of freedom, 3-D vision, 10 times magnification and better dissection with more precision. The operating time also decreases resulting in an improvement in the turnover of patients and a decrease in the waiting list of patients for surgery significantly.
2) Maps of newly formed Union Territories of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, with the map of India
On the recommendation of Parliament, the President effectively dismantled Article 370 of the Indian Constitution and gave assent to the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019.
The new Union Territory of Ladakh consists of two districts of Kargil and Leh. The rest of the former State of Jammu and Kashmir is in the new Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
In 1947, the former State of Jammu and Kashmir had the following 14 districts - Kathua, Jammu, Udhampur, Reasi, Anantnag, Baramulla, Poonch, Mirpur, Muzaffarabad, Leh and Ladakh, Gilgit, Gilgit Wazarat, Chilhas, and Tribal Territory.
By 2019, the state government of former Jammu and Kashmir had reorganized the areas of these 14 districts into 28 districts. The names of the new districts are as follows - Kupwara, Bandipur, Ganderbal, Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama, Shupian, Kulgam, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda, Kishtivar, Samba, and Kargil.
Out of these, Kargil district was carved out from the area of Leh and Ladakh district. The Leh district of the new Union Territory of Ladakh has been defined in the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization (Removal of Difficulties) Second Order, 2019, issued by the President of India, to include the areas of the districts of Gilgit, Gilgit Wazarat, Chilhas and Tribal Territory of 1947, in addition to the remaining areas of Leh and Ladakh districts of 1947, after carving out the Kargil District.

3) SCO Joint Urban Earthquake Search & Rescue Exercise (SCOJTEX)-2019
Union Minister of Home Affairs Shri Amit Shah will inaugurate the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Joint Exercise on Urban Earthquake Search & Rescue (SCOJtEx-2019) on 04th November 2019 at Dr. Ambedkar International Center, New Delhi.
Objective
On the initiative of Government of India, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is hosting “Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Joint Urban Earthquake Search & Rescue Exercise (SCOJtEx.)-2019” of all 08 SCO member countries, with the aim to rehearse the disaster response mechanism, share knowledge, experience, technology & also for mutual coordination, etc. This exercise shall also provide an opportunity to enhance the coordination & co-operation involving multi-agency operations in an earthquake scenario.

SCO Exercise
During the exercise, role & responsibility of
- Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) at National & International Level,
- Emergency Medical Team (EMT),
- Humanitarian System/The United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC)/Emergency Response & Assessment Team (ERAT),
- On-Site Operations Coordination Centre (OSOCC),
- Establishment of Emergency Operation Centre (EOC)/Integrated Command Post (ICP)/Response Cluster,
- Local Emergency Management Authority (LEMA) &
- Cluster Meetings, Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination (CM-Cord) will be discussed and practiced among the representatives from all 8 member nations.
The main focus of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Joint Exercise on Urban Earthquake Search & Rescue (SCOJtEx-2019) shall be to test the region’s preparedness and resilience towards effective activation of Intergovernmental interaction for immediate response.
4) Germany to invest €1 bn for green urban mobility
German Chancellor Angela Merkel to invest €1 billion over the next five years on environmentfriendly urban mobility in India.
She has emphasized the need to replace diesel run public transport with electric vehicles.
Germany would also like to work with India on various segments including healthcare, agriculture and artificial intelligence
5) Realtime Train Information System (RTIS)
About 500 passenger locomotives of the South Central Railway (SCR) have been fitted with the newly developed Realtime Train Information System (RTIS) to monitor precise speeds and movement throughout the journey from the first point to the destination. It has been developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CIRE) with the help of the Indian Space Research OrganisationAirports Authority of India’s GAGANGlobal Positioning System (GPS) aided geoaugmented navigation, originally developed for air traffic management.
For now, the information is being used for internal purposes. Gradually, passengers too will be given access to the data through messages or social media so that they can plan their journeys better. The new system has facilitated the automatic transmission of details on speed and movement of trains to the central control office.
6) Dhanush Artillery Guns
Dhanush is the indigenously upgraded variant of the Swedish Bofors gun imported in the 1980s.

7) Bulava intercontinental ballistic missile
Russia has successfully test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile from its latest nuclear-powered submarine, the country's defense ministry says. The Bulava ICBM can be armed with six to ten warheads per missile and has a range of some 8,300 km. It is specifically designed to evade western anti-missile defenses.
8) First-ever movement of container cargo on Brahmaputra (National Waterway2)
Shri Gopal Krishna, Secretary (Shipping) will flag off the inland vessel MV Maheshwari carrying 53 TEUs (containers) of petrochemicals, edible oil, and beverage, etc. The 12-15 days voyage will be an integrated IWT movement via National Waterway-1 (River Ganga), NW-97 (Sunderbans), Indo-Bangladesh Protocol (IBP) route and NW-2 (river Brahmaputra). This is the first-ever containerized cargo movement on this Inland Water Transport (IWT) route. The 1425 km long movement is expected to establish the technical and commercial viability of IWT mode using these multiple waterways even as a series of pilot movements are planned on the stretch. The latest IWT movement is aimed at providing a fillip to the North East Region’s industrial development by opening up an alternate route for transportation of raw material and finished goods.
