1) Shri Nitin Gadkari Launches Bamboo Water Bottle and other Products at KVIC
Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Road Transport & Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari launched new KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission) products and a special sales campaign in New Delhi. He launched a bamboo bottle of 700ml to 900 ml capacity made by a Tripura based organization, which is being seen as the perfect replacement of plastic bottles as it is natural, cost-effective, attractive and most eco-friendly. He also launched low priced sanitary napkins developed by Ladlee, a new soap, and Kachchi Ghani mustard oil.

3) Union Consumer Affairs Minister, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan launches ‘Consumer App’
To fast-track consumer grievance redressal process and provide an effective forum for consumers to give their valuable suggestions to the Department on consumer-related issues, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Shri Ram Vilas Paswan launched the ‘Consumer App’
The knowledge base available in the app is a very useful feature that will help consumers get information about 42 Sectors including Consumer Durables, Electronic Products, e-commerce, Banking, Insurance, etc. Consumers can use this app in Hindi and English on both Android and IoS platforms. This App can be downloaded free of cost from the Google Play Store or App Store for Apple. Consumers can also give their valuable suggestions through the Consumer App.
4) Shri G. Kishan Reddy launches Unified Portal for Licensing of Eating Houses/ Lodging Houses in NCT of Delhi
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri G. Kishan Reddy launched a single-window online system for licensing of eating houses/lodging houses, in New Delhi. This unique initiative is a joint effort of various agencies involved in the process of licensing in the NCT of Delhi for facilitating ease of doing business.
The Single Window Unified Portal will facilitate;
- The applicant to know the status of his application at all the stages of the approval process;
- The applicant will get notification of any deficiency in his application in the portal itself and also through email and message in his registered mobile number;
- The applicant may correct the deficiencies online in the portal itself within the prescribed timeline; time-bound processing of an application by all the agencies;
- The applicant can download the approval by all agencies from the portal;
- The portal will also facilitate easy monitoring by concerned authorities.
5) AIM, NITI Aayog’s Atal Tinkering Labs, and UNICEF India launches ‘The Gandhian Challenge’
On the 150th birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, AIM, NITI Aayog’s Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) and UNICEF India, including Generation Unlimited, have launched ‘The Gandhian Challenge’. This innovation challenge provides a platform for every child across India to ideate innovative solutions for a sustainable India of their dreams, using Gandhi’s principles.
In ATLs, students of class 6th to 12th acquire a problem-solving attitude, develop innovative solutions leveraging technologies like 3D printers, robotics, miniaturized electronics, IoT and programming, and DIY kits
About AIM (Atal Innovation Mission):
AIM is the Government of India’s flagship initiative to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. AIM’s objective is to develop new programs and policies for fostering innovation in different sectors of the economy, provide platform and collaboration opportunities for different stakeholders, create awareness and create an umbrella structure to oversee the innovation ecosystem of the country.

- Generation Unlimited is a new UNICEF-led global partnership that aims to ensure that every young person age 10-24 is in some form of school, learning, training, self-employment, or age-appropriate employment by 2030.
- It aims to co-create and scale up proven solutions related to secondary age-education, skills for learning, employability and decent work, and empowerment, with a focus on girls.
6) President of India will Confer “Vayoshreshtha Samman 2019”
The President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind will confer the “Vayoshreshtha Samman-2019” on the eminent senior citizens and institutions in recognition of their services towards the cause of the elderly persons to mark ‘International Day of Older Persons’ at a function organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 3rd October, 2019 in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. International Day of Older Persons is celebrated every year on 1st October since the year 2005.

Vayoshreshtha Samman is a Scheme of awards instituted by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (D/o Social Justice & Empowerment) and gradually upgraded to the status of National Awards, for institutions involved in rendering distinguished service for the cause of elderly persons especially indigent senior citizens and to eminent citizens in recognition of their service/achievements. These awards are presented as part of the celebration of the International Day of Older Persons (IDOP) on 1st October.
7) Nationwide “Paryatan Parv 2019” to promote tourism to be inaugurated in New Delhi
- The Minister of Petroleum &Natural Gas and Minister of Steel, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate the nationwide “Paryatan Parv 2019” on 2nd October 2019. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Paryatan Parv 2019 will be held from 2nd to 13th October 2019 across the country.
- The idea of Paryatan Parv is to propagate the message of ‘Dekho Apna Desh’, with the objective to encourage Indians to visit various tourist destinations of the country and also to spread the message of ‘Tourism for All’.
- Paryatan Parv is being organized with the objective of drawing focus on the benefits of tourism, showcasing the cultural diversity of the country and reinforcing the principle of “Tourism for All”.
8) Bank for International Settlements has launched a 'green' bond fund for central banks to promote green finance.
In the latest dimension of global central bank's interest in environmental sustainability, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has launched a dollar green bond fund enabling central banks around the world to invest in "green bonds". It is an open-ended bond & drawn the pool of assets from a global group of central banks to develop green finance through sizeable climate-friendly investments. It is structured under the swiss law & will be managed in-house by Asset Management handout of BIS, which is owned by 60 central banks.

The day is celebrated annually to raise awareness about rabies prevention and to highlight progress in defeating this horrifying disease. The day also marks the anniversary of Louis Pasteur's death, the French chemist and microbiologist, who developed the first rabies vaccine.
10) Rajendra Menon was named as the Chairperson of the Armed Forces Tribunal
Justice Rajendra Menon has been recommended by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi as the Chairperson of the Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT). Justice Rajendra Menon is the former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court.

The theme of (WHEF) 2019 "Prosperous Society: Stronger Society" to bring together financially successful members in Hindu society such as traders, bankers, technocrats, investors, industrialists to share business knowledge, expertise, and resources with their fellow brethren. The World Hindu Economic Forum has earlier been organized in London, Chicago, Losa Angeles, Hong Kong, and Nairobi.
12) Scientists discover the 8th continent under Europe. It's named as Greater Adria
Geologists under the principal researcher Douwe van Hinsbergen, Professor at Utrecht University, Netherlands, have discovered a new continent named "Greater Adria" in the Mediterranean region under Europe, after successful analyzation of mountain ranges from Spain to Iran in detail for 10 years. The discovery of this continent is published in the journal 'Gondwana Research'. his Greater Adria island is a piece of continental crust in the size of Greenland. It once separated from North Africa and plunged into the Earth's mantle under Southern Europe. It took Greater Adria 120 million years to be found by mankind.

Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Shri Prakash Javadekar inaugurated a unique exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi and Leo Tolstoy at Yasnaya Polyana, Russia. Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting inaugurated a special day-long seminar. The seminar was organized to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi as part of 150 years of celebrating the Mahatma. 14) Aryna Sabalenka has won the WTA Wuhan Open held in Wuhan, China
Aryna Sabalenka has won the WTA Wuhan Open held in Wuhan, China. She became the first player to claim back-to-back titles in Wuhan. She defeated American Alison Riske in the summit clash by 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. She has also joined Petra Kvitova as the only two-time Wuhan Open champion.
15) Sumit Nagal has won the men's singles title at the ATP Challenger Tournament.
Indian tennis player Sumit Nagal has won the men's singles title at the ATP Challenger Tournament held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He defeated Argentina's Facundo Bognis by 6-4, 6-2 to win the title. It was Sumit's second Challenger title of his career, following the triumph in the Bengaluru Challenger event in 2017. He jumped off 26 spots to achieve a career-best ranking of 135.
