Vayu cyclone to hit Gujarat by early Thursday as per the official. 1.6 lac people have been evacuated from the coastline areas. People from low-lying area like Saurasthra and region of Kutch are also been shifted to the safer places. Airports and ports operation are been suspended due to safety precaution school and colleges have given holiday on 12th and 13th of June, Anganwadis ( child and women day care centre run by the government) are also kept close .

The Vayu is a severe cyclone storm which has shifted its course slightly and would hit between Veraval in south and Dawarka in west of Gujarat. The cyclone is now situated around 280 km of south with a speed of 155-165 kilometre per hour (kmph) and it may hit the coast with speed of 180 Kmph around the after noon of Thursday. According to Meteorological center said. After making landfall the cyclone is likely to move along parallel to the Saurasthra and Kutch coast.

The impact of vayu is expected to remain after 24 hours of its landfall as it is a very severe cyclone storm and 10 district of Gujarat are been alerted of this. Over 50 teams of National Disaster Management Relief Force (NDRF) each team having 35 rescuers they have been arrived in the IAF C-17 aircraft which being land on Jamnagar, 10 columns of Indian Army are kept on Stand-by and warship and aircraft of Indian Navy are also on stand-by.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi alerted people and said to follow the news by official agencies and Home Minister Amit Shah also said to provide all requirement in his home state.
