As per the report of NITI Aayog in year 2030 the water demand is likely to be twice the available water which will eventually create a water scarcity for hundreds and millions of people which can lead to a down of 6% of GDP. As per the report of National Commission for Integrated Water Resource Development of MoWR ( Ministry of Water Resource, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation) in 2050 the water usage in highly consumable area is likely to be 1,180 BCM (Billion Cubic Meter) and the present supply is only 695 BCM. The total availability of water is 1,137 BCM which is still lower than the requirement.
State which have face drought in the past years are ranked good in water management index like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana as the action taken by these state are subsequently good.

Population is also causing main major problem in water scarcity many lakes and ponds are filling up and building are being made these all scenario are being seen in Chennai where water scarcity is a major issue many IT company telling there employees to stay at home as water used in flushing is wasted in huge amount.
